About the Author
Dr. Elizabeth Lombardo started her professional career as a physical therapist after getting her master's degree at Duke University. It was then that she realized that every goal we have-whether it is related to our bodies, relationships, jobs, or lives-requires a significant mental edge in order to achieve it. In her quest to help people actualize their dreams, Lombardo went back to school to get her PhD in clinical psychology. Wanting to help people "before they need a couch," she now coaches, consults, and speaks to groups about how to achieve their desired results. Lombardo is a highly sought-after speaker and media consultant who has been honored by giving a prestigious TEDx talk. She is frequently interviewed by today's top media outlets, including Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Money magazine, Health, USA Today, MSNBC, CNN, and National Public Radio. She has made multiple appearances on The Today Show, has a monthly column in Better Homes & Gardens, and is a contributor to The Huffington Post. Lombardo is also the author of A Happy You: Your Ultimate Prescription for Happiness. She lives in the Chicago area with her husband and two children. Brian Gorman is a forty one year old curious child, who had to formulate an understanding of life through fear. He was afraid because he was different. In my knowing he was different he created a space where he couldn't get answers on questions he had regarding deep moral, actual and spiritual ideas that could have helped me develop strong emotional hygiene. Without these lessons teaching him the basics, he robbed himself of being able to enjoy all the splendor, awe, love and success his life had to offer. It was at the age of 28, when he began his journey of emotional hygiene by working a 12 step program. Since that time not only was I able to succeed but flourish. He saw great success in the world of real estate development. It was during this time, when his insides became strong enough to support my talents and dreams. He was able to create my own hotel concept and realize that it was not what he wanted to do with the rest of my life. He was put back into the driver's seat of his own life, where he is able to walk the exciting, real, enjoyable path of curiosity.
