"Fascism is not to be debated, it is to be destroyed!" -Durruti
Confused about those people in black masks punching nazis? The first book to trace the history of transnational postwar anti-fascism and argue that if not stomped out in it's early stages, fascism (as history has already shown) will only continue to grow. Discover why these misunderstood people refuse to allow the mobilization and growth of hate groups, by any means necessary.
One of my new favorite books of all time! Follow Isserley through the misty shadows of the Scottish highlands as she lures the largest men she can find into her car, opening up to them (and herself) a dark unstoppable world of horrors. A gritty realism in approaching sci-fi and an allegory for the destructive aspects of our world (sexism, classism, capital, etc.), this is a MUST READ.
"We have nothing to lose but our boredom!"
This book changed my life before I even read it! The Situationist's ideas influenced those of my mentors and laid the groundwork for restructuring our lives to meet the immediate needs, desires, and dreams of our community rather than organizing our lives for the perpetuation of profit for capitalism's few benefactors. Arguing against reform and consumerism, and instead for the use of militant activism, detournment, and complete realization of our everyday lives!
Learn the truth about the violence of the U.S. border industrial complex and complicity of the government in these horrors. Enlightening and important.
hellish, grimy, and my favorite book so far this year. this visceral noir novella drags you into the stygian underbelly of present-day New York for 24 hours of blood and filth. i read this feverishly in one sitting and cannot wait to force it onto everybody i know. if you like dark tales and true crime, skip reading the back and jump in 'blind'!
The first voice that spoke to feelings I've had my whole life.
These short stories are sci-fi, yes, but they explore so much more than that. Each story is engrossing and beautifully vivid in it's world-building. Sometimes posing questions, always unique settings and characters. The best story collection, across all genres, that I've read since Martian Chronicles, and now one of my all-time favorite books.
